MARGARITA JIMENO is a Colombian born, New York based filmmaker and visual artist. She is an alumna of The School of Visual Arts, Werner Herzog’s first Rogue Film School, and the Berlinale Talent Campus. In 2008, Jimeno made her directorial debut with the feature music documentary, GOGOL BORDELLO NON-STOP, which premiered at the Göteborg Film Festival and won several awards during its festival run, including Special Mention for the Sound and Vision Award at CPH:DOX . The film went on to be picked up by Kino-Lorber International for North American distribution, and in Russia by Maywin Films.

Jimeno is currently in post-production on her first narrative – hybrid feature film, OTTO – MY LIFE IS A SOUNDTRACK, about an artist’s journey from the affluent art world to an austere religious community. Recently awarded the US in Progress award at the Champs-Élysées Film Festival in Paris. Outside of features, she produces and directs The American Theatre Wing’s documentary series WORKING IN THE THEATRE, now in its third season. The series has been nominated for a 2016 Webby Award, and won a Tellly Award in the documentary section.
